A portrait painting of metal sculpture artist Doyle Foreman, Carrillo’s longtime friend and colleague. The two artists worked together as professors in the art department at University of California Santa Cruz (UCSC) with Carrillo teaching painting and ceramics and Foreman teaching foundry and sculpture. Foreman was the one to create the foundry at UCSC which continues to be a popular subject among art majors to this day.
